Our FARE journey with Lochend Community Allotment started in April 2021.

Local residents came to us asking for help  to get the allotments up and running again ,as it had lain dormant for some time.

We now have  FAREPLAY Nursery, St Clares Day Nursery,  Buchlyvie  Nursery, Lochview Nursery ,  Westerhouse Family Learning Centre . Oakwood Primary , St Benedicts Primary , Lochend Community High School  as well as family clubs, Busy Bees Childminders and  Ladies from the Daffodil Club. All schools have a weekly time slot on allotment where Susan teaches them to sow , grow , harvest their own vegetables.  We are re purposing, re using and re cycling

Angela from the RHS visits regularly to promote wellbeing by delivering free workshops.

A typical visit is ... children will sow seeds, then storytime in our wondrous woodland, a nature craft relating to story and then a sing song.

FARE staff ,Children, families & volunteers have worked hard to create  a sensory garden, , a rock garden, a wildflower garden, a quiet peaceful sanctuary, bird watching area, mud kitchen and much more .

We are thankful and grateful  to Jewson,  B&Q in Parkhead, Scotbark, Assist Glasgow ,Johnstones Paints, Alba Engineering, Scotcoin, Rogart Street Business Centre for donations of materials , plants .

We recently received our 5 star award from RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) and won an award from Keep Scotland Beautiful for engaging children and young people.
