FAREPlay Nursery
FAREPlay Nursery is an early- years education centre, which is also a practice base for a skills academy. It contributes to employability courses and employment in local communities in Glasgow East.
It provides a family-focused early-years nursery service for children and their parents/ carers; and training, accreditation, work experience, and employment support for people new to or working in childcare.
At FAREplay Nursery we thrive to provide a fun, happy and safe environment for our children, their families and our staff. We aim to prioritize positive relationships through a nurturing pedagogy, ensuring that children are respected and valued. We embrace outdoor play and wish to maximize the use of our surrounding community. We thrive for every child to feel included and encourage them to lead their own learning. We aim to carry out this by:
Providing a safe, caring and motivating learning environment.
Providing fun and relevant learning experiences that allow children to engage in their learning.
Promoting positive nurturing relationships creating attachments with children, families and other agencies.
Communicate effectively to work in partnership with parents and families during their journey at our nursery, encouraging them to active participants in their child’s learning.
Working effectively as a team to ensure high quality care and learning is delivered whilst being committed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Providing free flow access to high quality outdoor play experiences where children are encouraged to risk assess and make their own judgements through their play
Creating a motivating environment where our children can flourish and grow, for them to reach their unique potential.
Encouraging parental involvement and promote for them to be engaged in all aspects of their child’s learning.
We work to achieve this through offering government funded hours in relation to Scottish Governments 1140hrs commitment on a flexible basis to meet individual family needs as well as affordable wrap around hours.
Our Outdoor Provision
At FAREplay Nursery we acknowledge the importance of children’s outdoor learning and its impact on each child’s development. From learning an awareness of the natural world, understanding risk, developing social skills, encouraging independence and active play, just to name a few of its benefits.
We are fortunate to have our nursery garden and our FAREplay Nursery plot within FARE Community Allotment.
We take part in daily active play sessions. Active outdoor play is one of the most natural and obvious ways for children to be more physically active. This type of activity is one of the most health enhancing with research demonstrating that children typically achieve higher levels of physical activity in Active Play than in other forms of physical activity
