This year FARE have created and implemented our Family Learning Programme within primary schools in the East End of Glasgow. The programme aims to create a positive environment for families spend quality time with each other and to help build upon relationships between families and their schools. During the weekly 2-hour sessions FARE staff encourage families to have fun together by taking part in various games and arts & crafts activities and also help educate families on making healthy meals on a budget by having them prepare, cook and enjoy nutritious meals. Families often receive food from Fareshare and are also given the recipes for the food that they cook during sessions via Flatpack Meals. During the sessions parents and carers are also supported to achieve various qualifications including Emergency First Aid at Work and Food Hygiene.
