During the summer we provide various services and events in order to create new opportunities for young people and families over the school holidays. The video below showcases the programme in action!

Fourteen young people from FARE attended a weeklong camping residential in North Coates on the outskirts of Grimsby.

The residential involved young people from across the UK spending the week together living in tents. They had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities including high ropes course, kayaking and playing sports. The activities contributed to the young people developing leadership skills, communication and confidence building. They built positive friendships; many of which will last a lifetime.

The 2019 Holiday Programme kicked off in Skegness; with 2 trips to Butlins Holiday Resort. We accommodated 32 young people in total.

Activities included trips to the swimming pool, the beach, tennis, shopping and the carnival. The young people had the opportunity to dress up for the discos within the entertainment complex at night. They are also encouraged to develop independent living skills by getting involved with cleaning the chalet, managing money and supporting each other. For some of the group this was the first holiday they had been on and the whole experience made memories that would last forever.

Gala Days

FARE in partnership with GHA, Blairtummock Housing Association, Lochfield Park Housing Association, Cube Housing and Townhead Village Hall delivered 13 summer gala days.

These events are used to bring the community together and give local people the opportunity to see other services available to them. At the Gala Days, there was fun for all the family and funding from our partners allowed the event to be free of charge. Activities include inflatable play, trampolining, carnival rides, face painting, balloon modelling and much more. During the Summer of 2019 we saw an astonishing 4,750 attendees.
