We offer quality training courses to other organisations covering an array of topics.
Groups have the opportunity to take part in arts and craft projects, learning about food/culture from around the world, playing team games, budgeting stress management, child & fuel poverty, Makaton sign language, music lessons and creative writing.
Family Learning helps build a stronger school community by bringing people together. We currently run FL within St Benedict’s, Oakwood & St Maria Goretti Primary Schools. There are 149 individuals registered from 52 families.
In conjunction with the workshops, adults can undergo certificated training with qualifications in First Aid & Food Hygiene. Throughout the 2-hour sessions the groups prepare, cook and enjoy a meal together. A total of 9 parents and carers have gained their First Aid certificates through Family Learning.
Our groups have attended various trips including a visit to Paisley’s Winterfest at Christmas, with one parent commenting “Despite working fulltime I couldn’t afford this for my boys; this has been a wonderful Christmas treat and a great opportunity to spend quality time with them.“
