All young people deserve to be excited and inspired about their futures and identifying positive career paths are key to this. Below you'll find information and initiatives that show how we're working towards this outcome.

Stage 2/3 Employability Group

Courses

FARE work in partnership with Glasgow City council, Move On, Impact Arts and Tomorrows people to deliver the Connect 2 Programme.

Connect 2 have delivered 18 programmes engaging 176 young people in personal development and employability workshops.

During the eight weeks, the young people will have the opportunity to take part in taster sessions looking at confidence building, problem-solving, conflict resolution, community challenge and employability skills.

On completion, they will achieve a Bronze Youth Achievement Award.

FARE work within secondary schools to deliver SVQ2 in Youth Work. This is aimed at S4, S5 & S6 and forms part of the school curriculum.

During the year they will put theory into practice and support FARE staff in delivering projects to aid them to complete their qualification.

Aspire 360 is a Stage 2 employability focused programme for young people across Glasgow. The programme is aimed at helping young people’s personal development through different interventions. Topics covered through the six-week programme are CV building, increased confidence, team building, cooking lessons and community challenges.

The last 12 months has seen 7 programmes run with approx. 60 young people going into positive destinations in further education, training or employment.

Youth Exchange

Nine young people took part in an international YE to Dublin (EIRE). The groups integrated and participated in a range of workshops. The exchange included 9 young people from Foroige Youth (IRE). This opportunity provided new opportunities for the exploration of culture, employability and friendship.

Starbucks Youth Action

Throughout the year 80 young people have had the chance to develop their employability skills and access practical experience with staff from local starbucks stores. This programme includes a networking event with many employers such as Hilton Hotels, M&S, Tennents, Tigers Ltd & more.

Eco Dome

Built as part of the Aspire 360 course. The group were challenged to work alongside Lochend CHS pupils to create an eco-dome for the community. The aim of the project was to give local people a safe space and encourage outdoor play. The task allowed the young people to develop various skills with a finished product to be proud of; pictured below.

Bespoke Guidance

FARE provides one to one support for young people and adults who may be facing short or long term hardship when getting back into work. We offer practical advice and emotional support, covering issues such as homelessness, drug or alcohol addiction. The sessions take place in various settings to ensure the individual feels comfortable.
