Our weekly clubs provide a much needed space for social interaction and rest-bite. We also facilitate home visits for senior citizens.

FARE run adult groups in 3 different locations; Bannatyne House, Blairtummock Housing Association & Wellpark Community Centre. The sessions take place every Wednesday Afternoon and play host to a range of activities. Favourites include; prize bingo, arts & crafts, cooking, chair yoga, cards and dominoes.

Social Interaction

For many of our service users, this weekly interaction is vital in combatting social isolation. The group often enjoy ‘trips down memory lane’ by sharing music, pictures, stories and even a dance! We’re also fortunate enough to create new memories with various outings such as afternoon tea on the barge!

Additionally, we host the residents from Abbey Court Care Home every week. After we’ve finished the week’s activity, this group love a sing along and socialising over tea and a light lunch. It’s our pleasure to share in their anecdotes.

Q: Why do you like coming?

“It brings me happiness. I see people I wouldn’t see otherwise because I stay at the other side of the estate. A lot of my friends I hadn’t saw for years until the club opened up again. I’d be lost without this, and that’s the truth because I don’t really go anywhere. Television in the house is the alternative.”

-Rena (Wellpark)

Q: What do you get out of the club?

“It’s the social aspect. FARE have created a friendly & welcoming environment here. I’ve met a good bunch of people that look out for you. It”s something to look forward to every week and that’s an important thing for me. There’s always laughs galore and it’s good to be active in the community.”

-Joe (Blairtummock)
